Private labeling is the process of replacing or covering a garment's original manufacturer tag with your own branded label. The goal is to make a decorated blank feel like a product your brand produced rather than a third party garment you put a logo on. That distinction matters more than most people realize when it comes to how customers perceive the value of what they are wearing. There are several ways to execute private labeling depending on the garment and the brand's needs. Woven labels are sewn directly into the collar or hem of the garment and offer a premium textured finish that reads as high end. Printed labels use direct to garment or screen printing technology to apply your brand information cleanly onto the inside of the fabric. Heat transfer labels press directly onto the garment interior for a soft tag free feel that has become increasingly popular in performance and athleisure apparel. Tearaway tag removal strips out the original manufacturer label so your custom label is the only branding the wearer ever sees. We offer woven labels, printed labels, heat transfer labels, and tearaway tag removal. Each option has a different look and feel depending on the garment and the brand aesthetic you are going for. Our team will help you figure out which one makes the most sense for your specific order.
Vector files like AI and EPS give us the cleanest results and are always preferred. We also accept PDF, PNG, and JPG files at a minimum of 300 DPI at the actual label size. Provide your brand colors in PMS or HEX format where possible so we can match them accurately across every label we produce.
Yes private labeling is available as an add on to any embroidery, screen printing, DTF, or patch order we run. Just let us know at the time of your quote and we will include it in the pricing and production timeline.
Our minimum order quantity for private labeling is 24 pieces. This allows us to set up the label production correctly and maintain consistent quality across every garment in the run.
Standard production time for private labeling is 10 to 14 business days after proof approval. If private labeling is combined with a decoration order the timelines run concurrently so you are not waiting double the time for your finished product.
