Custom Puff Print
Puff printing takes screen printing to a completely different level. A specialty ink additive is mixed into the base ink before printing and when heat is applied during the curing process that additive expands and raises the design off the surface of the fabric. The result is a bold, three dimensional graphic that you can see and feel from across the room. It works best on cotton and cotton blend fabrics and pairs especially well with oversized streetwear silhouettes, heavyweight blanks, and any brand that wants their decoration to make a statement.

About Bulk Puff Printing
Puff printing is a specialty screen printing technique that uses a foam based ink additive to create a raised three dimensional effect on the surface of a garment. The process starts exactly like standard screen printing with ink being pushed through a mesh screen onto the fabric. The difference is in the ink itself. A puff additive is blended into the ink before printing and when the garment runs through the dryer at the right temperature that additive expands and lifts the design off the fabric surface. Puff print works best on solid color designs and bold graphics with clean edges. Fine lines and extremely small text do not expand as cleanly and can lose definition during the puff process. For the right artwork on the right blank puff printing delivers a finished product that immediately reads as premium and intentional in a way that a standard flat print simply cannot.

Have a question about your puff print order? Puff printing is one of the more technical decoration methods we offer and we know it raises a lot of questions before someone places their first order. We have been running puff jobs long enough to have worked through every variable there is. Reach out directly if you do not see your answer below and we will get back to you within 24 hours.
ector files like AI and EPS are always preferred because they give us the cleanest edges for the puff expansion process. We also accept PDF, PNG, and JPG files at a minimum of 300 DPI at the actual print size. Provide PMS or HEX color codes where possible so we can match your brand colors accurately before mixing the ink.
Puff printing performs best on 100 percent cotton and heavyweight cotton blend fabrics. The denser the fabric the more consistently the ink expands during curing. Performance fabrics and lightweight polyester blends do not hold the puff expansion as reliably and are generally not recommended for this method.
Bold graphics with solid color fills and clean edges expand the most cleanly and produce the sharpest finished result. Fine lines, extremely small text, and highly detailed artwork can lose definition during the puff expansion process. Our team will review your artwork before production and flag anything that may not translate well.
ur minimum order quantity for puff printing is 50 pieces. This allows us to set up the ink correctly and maintain consistent expansion and quality across every piece in the run.
Standard production time for puff printing is 7 to 10 business days after mockup approval. Rush options may be available depending on the complexity of the artwork and the order size.
