What Is DTF Printing
About Bulk DTF Printing
DTF stands for Direct to Film. The process starts with your artwork being printed onto a special transfer film using water based inks. A hot melt adhesive powder is then applied to the wet ink and cured with heat to create a finished transfer ready to be applied to a garment. That transfer gets pressed onto the fabric using a heat press which bonds the design permanently to the surface of the material. What makes DTF different from every other decoration method is that it requires zero prep work based on color count and can replicate artwork perfectly onto a garment. One color or twenty colors costs the same to set up because there are no screens to burn and no separations to run. DTF works on cotton, polyester, nylon, canvas, and just about every performance fabric blend in between. The finished print is soft, color accurate, and flexible enough to move with the garment rather than sitting rigid on top of it.

We have been running DTF production long enough to have heard all of them. If you do not see your answer below reach out directly and we will get back to you within 24 hours. Vector files like AI and EPS give us the cleanest output and are always preferred. We also accept PDF, PNG, and JPG files. If you are submitting a raster file it must be at least 300 DPI at the actual print size. Files at 72 DPI or screen resolution will produce blurry or pixelated transfers that cannot be corrected after printing. Provide your artwork with PMS or HEX color codes where possible so we can match your brand colors accurately.
DTF transfers bond cleanly to cotton, polyester, nylon, canvas, performance blends, and most other fabric types. Unlike screen printing which works best on cotton, DTF is one of the few decoration methods that works equally well across virtually every fabric we decorate on.
Standard production time is 5 to 7 business days after mockup approval. Rush options may be available depending on the order size and complexity of the artwork.
There is no minimum order quantity for DTF printing. You can order a single piece or a thousand and the same quality standard applies to every transfer we press. This makes DTF one of the most flexible decoration methods we offer for small runs, samples, and one off custom pieces.
When applied correctly DTF transfers are extremely durable and hold up through repeated washing without cracking or peeling. We follow the proper heat press temperature, pressure, and dwell time on every single piece to ensure a permanent bond before anything ships.
